Food Allergy Video The video is the first professionally produced video that puts the CDC’s Voluntary Guidelines for Managing Food Allergies in Schools and Early Care and Education Programs in clear, easy to understand language. Following the CDC’s guidelines, the video will provide participants with essential tools that they will need to create effective food allergy management plans by addressing the 5 priority areas recommended by the CDC. Including are interviews with Dr. Scott Sicherer of the Jaffee Food Allergy Institute at Mount Sinai Hospital, nurses, parents and children with food allergies.

Food Allergy Management workshop The video enhanced workshop will provide parents, school administrators, staff and childcare providers with practical information, planning steps, and strategies for reducing allergic reactions and responding to life-threatening food allergy reactions. Participants will get hands on tips on how to prevent, recognize and react to food allergy emergencies. At the end of this session members will be able to: identify the signs and symptoms of anaphylaxis, prepare for food allergy emergencies (including how to use epinephrine auto-injectors) and reduce risks of food allergen exposure in schools and all childcare settings

Epinephrine Auto Injector Training Workshop This hands on workshop is designed to educate participants on proper techniques for the administration of the epinephrine auto-injectors. In addition to the video enhanced education program, participants will learn; steps for administering the epinephrine auto-injectors (EpiPen, AuviQ, and the generic injector), epinephrine auto-injector sizes and doses, epinephrine storage, expiration, and need to replace, information to give EMS and relevant laws regarding epinephrine administration.

Parent/Community Programs This program is designed to help parents and community member gain an understanding of what food allergies are, why it is important to have food allergy policies in place, and how to maintain food allergy friendly environments for children.
